Addustour Hosts Seminar on Israeli Claims Regarding Religious Conflict: The King Vindicated Christianity and Exposed the Fallacy of Framing the Conflict as Religious

Addustour newspaper organized a seminar titled "The King Vindicated Christianity and Exposed the Fallacy of Framing the Conflict as Religious." The discussion focused on the content of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s address to the UN General Assembly and the messages it conveyed in refuting the Israeli narrative—which attempts to portray the conflict in Palestine as religious—while its true essence is a struggle over rights, land, and freedom. Participants in the seminar included former Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Hayel Daoud and Father Nabil Haddad; the discussion was moderated by journalist Hussein Al-Rawashdeh. The dialogue highlighted Jordan's pivotal role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites, underscored the Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem's holy sites, and addressed attempts to exploit religion to justify the occupation and violations against the Palestinian people. The speakers emphasized that the King’s speech helped expose the falsity of the Israeli narrative and vindicated Arab Christianity, affirming that Jerusalem stands as a symbol of peace and interfaith coexistence. They also stressed the importance of fostering religious and national harmony, intensifying intellectual, media, and religious efforts to convey the true narrative to the world, and countering hate speech and extremism.
